Don’t know how this chain started but I’ve been tagged by THIS GUY CAN in the Blogger interview series. A great lifestyle blog by a guy, yes a guy. A guy’s view on fitness, lifestyle, food and travel! Something a little different for you hehe
It’s about time I answer these common questions, I guess haha
How did you get into blogging?
Since 2010 through a different name and blog but 2012 was my official launch off for Theresa Chung | Dream of Colour AU. I started writing on local events and fashion weeks.
What advice would you give to a blogger just starting out?
Like Luke from THIS GUY CAN, experimenting is key to any blogging. Experimenting with your interests in writing to test your readers. Start writing now! Why wait till later when you think you’re more entertaining. If you leave it till later, your idea may be pushed aside by other fresh ideas so START WRITING NOW! Keep your minds fresh by being inspired from other bloggers and instagram.
What would be your dream campaign?
Help emerging and local designers promote their designs. My label, Atown, hopes to achieve this. I understand the difficulty of local designers to start their own business of selling their designs online without the networking exposure.
Do you have a plan for your blog?
I already have with customers emailing me with requests for personal styling in streetwear and ready-to-wear sessions. Sessions are kept confidential.
What do you think about rankings?
Rankings do help if you want to have your name out in the networking “wilderness”. If you are scared you won’t gain the desired ranking, don’t worry this just takes time, patience and focus. Keep writing, challenging concepts with your own charisma.
Once you get to a certain ranking level (1k+ followers), then collaboration requests will come to you, acceptances/invites fashion week or events will come your way. But even if you have less than 1k, does not mean you should be discouraged to request for media passes at fashion week / events. I don’t always receive invites, I do ask for my passes too. There is no harm in a quick email to request blogger / media passes. There are two simples answers YES or NO. And if you do get NOs, keep asking for other events. I guarantee you will receive at least 1 YES! From this one YES, there’ll be more YESs~
YOU CAN DO IT! 🙂
Yes, I am slow in my posts partially coz I’m lazy and busy. hahah
